FontFinder (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a browser extension that lets you inspect and save CSS font properties on any web page. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

  1. Font metrics and page URL
    • What: font-family, font-weight, font-size, letter-spacing, line-height, text-align, color, opacity.
    • Why: to display font details when you hover over text and to store your detection history (grouped by site).
    • How: all data is read from the page’s DOM via getComputedStyle.
  2. Storage
    • We store this font-detection history locally in your browser using the Chrome storage API.
    • No personal information (names, emails, IP addresses) is collected.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Local display: show a tooltip with font details.
  • History: enable you to review, sort, group and export (JSON) your past font inspections.

That’s it—data stays on your device unless you export it.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • No sharing: We do not share or sell any collected data to third parties.
  • No servers: All data is processed and kept locally; nothing is transmitted over the network.

5. Remote Code and Security

  • No remote code: All scripts, styles, and assets are packaged in the extension. We do not fetch or execute any external code at runtime.
  • Security: We follow Chrome Web Store policies and best practices to ensure no unauthorized access or leaks.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • Disable detection: You can toggle off the detector at any time via the toolbar icon.
  • Clear history: Use the “Clear” button to erase all stored font detections.
  • Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all local data.
